VINTAGE THINGIE THURSDAY

Time to display all the vintage thingie's that we cannot live without!!! Miss Suzanne is our host @http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/

Today I want to show all my friends one of my collections--I'm always looking for birdcages--don't have a bird just love them.

I'm also a collector of "Wizard of Oz", don't you think this birdcage looks like a hot air balloon?  My sister Lori received

this in a Christmas White elephant swap.  She did not want it and gave it to me.  Ofcourse I love it.  I have some doves that reside their now.

The next birdcage I bought several years ago at a Lawn and Garden Center-stuffed in the back behind a storage shed.  I did have to remove all the rust, and I painted it white.  It's just so proud to be sitting in my sunroom.  I usually keep little porceline birds and nests in there.

Again the next birdcage was given to my by one of my sisters.  Deb was at a garage sale last summer and saw this blue birdcage.  The seller wanted quite a bit for it but Deb says she got it at a reasonable price-although she never told me how much.  It's great to have such giving sisters.

I like this one in the living room against the rust-cream background.

This one sits on top of my printers cabinet in my workroom.  It has quite a bit of wear--I'm not sure of it's final destination.

I think what I enjoy the most about birdcages is the beautiful workmanship in them.  They can't be turned out on a conveyor belt.  I'm also a lover of anything garden style so they are one of my special possessions.

Have a super day--enjoy all the spring sunshine.

What a neat collection! I have two bird cages in my bedroom. I also collect flamingos, and have them in the birdcages. Neat way to combine collections. I love your cage that looks like a balloon. That's my favorite.

These birdcages are all sweet Ann!.. But I have to admit, I've thought about getting a REAL bird here! I just haven't decided for sure. The timing for now, is not right, so maybe someday down the road... I was just over to Sue's, at the CollectIn Texas Gal blog, and your little bunnies are ADORABLE!! Had to come right over here to say so!!! Are they done with silk flower petals?? I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM!! ~tina

I like the cages the way you have them--without real birds.

You really have some great bird cages. I would never have thought of collecting such. I would not have the room for them. You always come up with such neat things for your post.

Your bird cages are great, and lucky you for your sister not wanting that first one. I think these are sought after today by lots of folks, I'd hang on to them! Have a great VTT!
