Blue, blue Christmas trees

Reminds me of "Blue Christmas" by Elvis, I've been listening to his album all month!!

Here's some blue Christmas trees I've seen this season.  First my daughters Christmas tree.

Her color theme this year was blue, I love the polka dot and snowman.

After church this morning we all went to Culver's and their tree was blue.

Aren't the cups cute!!
We are ending the year in a cold spell, it was 15 degrees this morning when we left for church.  The ice is gone and that is good for driving and walking.

X is the letter

We have arrived at the letter X and I think I have come up with one not used so far!!

Down the street from where we live is a Cinnemark 20 Theater Complex.

X is for Xd

 Extreme Digital Cinema

The theaters are designed with a higher slope and surround sound.

What holiday movies are you taking in this season?

 1.  "The Hobbit, the Desolation of Smaug".

2.  "Saving Mr. Banks"

3.  "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"

Maybe one that's been out already- "Catching Fire-this is my pick.

Hope you have a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!!!!!

The season has kept me very busy with  Christmas programs and parties, shopping and baking.  I failed to post last week  but wanted to finish our round.

From my house to your house WE WISH YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

This is our holiday photo we used for our card this year.

Taken on Thanksgiving vacation in Colorado at our Sons.

We are expecting some snow here in Kansas too next week, maybe we will have a white Christmas.

This Christmas

Christmas 2013

Our sunroom tree done in all white and gold trimmings. I also used old-fashioned icicles. This tree was purchased last year and has white flocking on the branches.

My  Hallmark

"Mary's Angels " Wreath. This is the 27th year the series has been going on.

Our living room tree done in all the traditional colors.

I love putting up my vintage aluminum tree and topper each year.  I have found some additional ornaments this last year to add to it.

I'm using my old screen for a mesh wreath and some vintage ornaments hanging in our entryway.

One of my new vintage elves hanging out--my sis Deb found these for me.

Simple burlap covering a jar with some greenery in my lantern.

My old brown truck hauling white Christmas Trees.

I found this darling "Hallmark Farm Truck" last year and it's carrying our cards we receive this year.

We are wishing "JOY-2-U" this year.

U is for Under

What is UNDER your tree?

In my  sunroom we have put up an extra tree.  UNDER our tree I decided to display our ceramic nativity set.

We have had this set for a number of years.

I do love the detail in the pieces.

Also I noticed another item this weekend on our trip for Thanksgiving which was UNDER.
I caught a glimpse of the Holy Bible. It was sitting UNDER the top of the end table.

It did my heart good to see this reminder that the United States is indeed a Christian nation, regardless of who wants to dispel this fact.  This time of year sure makes me appreciate that I have the freedom to display all of my Christmas decorations on my front lawn and say "Merry Christmas" to one and all.

We are still on Thanksgiving vacation in Colorado and last evening went to a wonderful Christmas event in Salida.

There was a Christmas parade and the Coca Cola Bear was their with their truck all decorated.

My grandson and I had our picture taken with the Bear.

Everything was magical!

Mantel in blue

Finished decorating my mantel for Christmas and thought Mary looked beautiful for Blue Monday. We are leaving for our Son's for thanksgiving and will not be back until December so I wanted to have everything decorated when we return.

Mary and Baby Jesus  is adorned with a large silver star and lots of beautiful silver tulling and white lights.

Wishing all my facebook friends a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving!!!

Christmas Vintage

I've been Christmas decorating this week and I wanted to use some red items I already own this year.
I purchased this red sifter at a garage sale this last summer and I love the shape its in.

Since it's in the kitchen, I added some of my grandchildren's ornaments from past years that are gingerbread cookies.

S is for SERVICE

ABC Wednesdays letter is S this week.

This is the SEASON for SERVICE.  How do you SERVE others?

Our church foyer yesterday had a display of some of the items we have donated for Thanksgiving for needy families.

We also have a coat drive where we donate good used or new coats, hats, and gloves. We don't ask any questions of the people who come in for help, they just receive a sack full of all the makings for a nice dinner plus a frozen turkey.

SERVICE to others should be an attitude of our hearts and we should do this year round, but it is so nice to do this at this time of year when so many people feel lonely or inadequate when it comes to having a nice dinner for their family.

If you don't have a project going for this SEASON, consider doing something----it will be so rewarding.

Ryukyu Studio in BLUE

This studio is in our neighborhood and on the way home from church today I snapped a few pictures. I knew it was martial arts but I had to do some research to learn about Ryukyu.

Ryukyu was an independent kingdom which ruled the Ryukyu Islands from 15th to the 19th Century.
Ryukyu is now part of Okinawa.

This was their flag until 1875, the same symbol on the studio.

According to their website, they teach Judo, Jui-jitsu, Karate, Kung Fu and Kabudo.  They also teach total health and strength for the person who just wants to improve their quality of life.

The building really stands out in this vibrant blue along side brick and tan buildings.

Special pinks

I caught a darling picture of my granddaughter in the hall of her school at a violin concert a few weeks ago.

My granddaughter is the one carrying her violin.  I think that pink is a really popular color with girls her age.

Here she is talking to her "best friend" about all the important things in their lives.

I love getting shots that are not posed for don't you.
