Card

How many of you keep special greeting cards? I'm one of those who hang on to things made from my children and grandchildren.

Ran across this special card a few days ago that my granddaughters made when they were 8 and 10 years old, will be residing on my refrigerator until Valentines Day has passed.

Even though they are now teenagers they think it's kinda special their Nana kept it.!

Felt hearts

Shopping today at JoAnn Fabric store I ran across their Valentine decor 40% off. Well I loved this one.

I also found a 20% coupon on-line so a very reasonable decoration and really cute I think.

Being the crafty person I am, I'm trying to figure out how to make the roses myself.

Barometer

The barometer was invented in 1643 by Italian Scientist Evanglista  Torricelli.  The barometer measures how much air pressure is in the atmosphere. A very detailed explanation is on Wickipedia that goes into detail on how he discovered this.

In short when we are having low air pressure - weather is getting an artic cold wave.  Well Kansas and much of the country is experiencing this right now.

Don't get me wrong I love winter and wouldn't want to live where the seasons don't change.  This is us this morning.

Ice day

We don't have a snow day here in Kansas we have an ice day. All the schools closed and snow is coming on top of the ice.

Ice hanging on the branches.

Those are ice pellets on the deck!!

Staying here today, not taking the car out.

Aspire

A new year is here and many people are making new years resolutions. I steer away from these but wanted to share some of the highlights of our sermon on Sunday.

Aspire to make this a great year-do your very best. It's # 10 of 365 days-what have we done so far and what are we going to do with the rest.

This day started out at 12:00 a.m.--it was still dark, doesn't look like a new day but soon the sun will come out.

There are seven things we need to stop this year.

1.  Stop trying to please everyone.
2.   Stop living in the past.  When the past calls-don't answer, they don't have anything new to say!
3.   Stop fearing change.
4.   Stop sitting on your faith.
5.   Stop believing you don't have a purpose.
6.   Stop overthinking everything.
7.   Stop beating yourself up over past mistakes.

Excited for what's coming my way and yours too this 2018.

Zip and zeal

Ladies and Gents this was the year of the zip-up jammies. Here is my daughter, granddaughter and niece in the one-pieces.  I got a pair also of the Elf and I gotta tell you these are the most comfortable PJ's I have ever worn!!!!

This was our dress up party--ugly sweaters and just Christmas attire galore!!

The zeal was apparent this year! My nice purchased these T-shirts and adorned them as such:

Each family member had a word for the sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed your Christmas as much as this 27 person party!!!!
