Cabana

Cabana is my word for C this week. Another vacation shot of the beach in Progresso, Mexico.

A cabana is a small hut in tropical climates near natural bodies of water.

What a glorious time we had lounging under the cabana having our tropical drinks, soaking in the sun and walking in the sand. Perfect relaxation.

We tried some of the local mexican cuisine at a local restaurant, the guacamole was the best I've ever eaten.

It all ended way to soon!!

Cruisin to 40

After returning from our 2014 vacation I thought I would share the photo as we embarked on our ship.

Our immediate family took a cruise to Cosumel and Progresso Mexico aboard the Carnival Cruise Line. We were celebrating our daughters 40th birthday. Our Son and family however could not come. Maybe next time. This was my hubby's and my first cruise and it won't be the last. He loved it and well as I.

I have many pictures, some underwater ones still being developed.  I will share many in the weeks to come.

Hope everyone is enjoying the last weeks of summer before school, our grands have 2 weeks left before it begins again.

Thanking Miss Beverly today for the PINK SATURDAY party.  Linking with PINK SATURDAY

Boat - Swamp that is

Just arrived home from a two week vacation on Carnival Cruise Lines. We docked out of New Orleans and spent some time there too.

One day we took a tour on Cajun Pride Swamp Tour BOAT in New Orleans. Since I missed the letter A, I'm showing my ALLIGATOR pictures also.

Here I am holding a baby alligator.

The swamp boat tour was around  1.5 hours and the tour guide called all of the alligators by name and they responded to his voice. Here he is feeding Lefty (he lost his left foot in a fight).

Peanut the Alligator

He also had snakes for us to hold, I WAS HAVING NO PART OF THAT!!!
Granddaughter Olivia had no problem.

The swamp is really a beautiful place, lots of wildlife to see.

We all took turns with the baby alligator!!!!

A graveyard on the swamp.

A cabin that has been there a long time, was redone after Katrina.

What a great adventure for all of us.

Zip line

We have reached the end of this round of ABC WEDNESDAY and it has been a real ride. My thanks go to Mrs. Nesbitt and Roger for keeping us on the train all year long.

My z word is ZIP LINE.   My two sisters and I gave it a go in May.
At first I was holding on pretty tight--by the end of the 6 zips I could let go.

Our group

This one is

off my bucket list.

Branson Ducks

On our girls weekend to the Ozarks my sisters, Mom and I  rode the Branson Ducks.  These ducks are amphibious troupe carriers  from WWII that have been  redesigned as recreation boats for the lake.

We created such wonderful memories this weekend that will not be forgotten.

Mom took her turn driving the ducks down the river for awhile. She got so tickled!!

Fun Independence Day

Our 4th of July was such a great time with family. We spent the evening with my Sister, BIL, nephew and great nephew.

Smore's were a must to start the festivities.

In the daylight the BOYS (big and little) shot off their smoke bombs!!

My sister catching the flying parachute!!

When dark arrived we went to the front yard for the huge fireworks display.  One block over an entire neighborhood goes together and purchases fireworks. The show went on solid for about 1.5 hours!!!

The BIG boys shooting sparklers!!

My favorite picture of my nephew.

We had to call it quits about 11:0, little one tuckered out and falling asleep in Uncle's truck.

YELLOW BIRD

ABC WEDNESDAY is nearing the end of this round and Y is our letter this week. I have some yellow in one of my gardens.

I love these little glass globe yellow birds.  As I was taking pictures of them this morning I remembered a song that I heard sung  by the Kingston Trio.

The original song was titled "Choucoune" and was composed by Michael Monton. To learn more about this Haitian inspired song check out what Wickipedia has to say.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choucoune_(song)

Here is my yellow birds and my lillies with yellow centers and solid yellow.

Thanks to U-Tube I found the Yellow Bird  Song for your enjoyment.
