One of the plants that grow so wonderfully in our yard is the CANNA Ferrandii. The Canna plant is considered part of the lily family but not really a lily.
See the beautiful CONTRAST of my CANNA against the white siding on our home.
I think the bloom is a beautiful color--between a red and an orange.
Some gardening sites recommend you dig up the bulbs and store over the winter but I have NEVER done this and they come back beautiful every summer.

I've always thought the cannas look so exotic! You must live in a warmer zone because they would need to be dug up for the winter in Zone 5. I've also heard that hummingbirds like them. Maybe I should put them on my plant list for next summer.♥♫
Lovely shots. I like Canna Lilies a lot. Carver, ABC Wed. Team
I like those blooms too. Your is such a vibrant color. I have some from my neighbor's yard, but they are yellow.
Cannas remind me of my parents garden so long ago.
They were always growing along the side of the house.
So pretty and hearty.
Such pretty shots of the canna's against your house. These grow well here in Texas, too. The thing I like is that they are perennials. The thing I dislike...thinning them out. LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by CITexas Gal. Always great to hear from you.

Canna are so beautiful, - I don't have them here in my small town garden, but do admire them.
I like cannas, too. Had some once but not anymore. don't know what happened. Oh well.
I do love Canna Lilies and especially like that beautiful color.
Lovely colour, Ann! I love cannas, but I thought the cannas in Indonesia were bigger. I am not sure though.
Have a great day.

Your Canna Lilies are gorgeous. Their coloring looks lovely against the side of the house.
I love Cannas and they grow well here without digging them up in Winter. We used to have a swath of them in the side yard before the new driveway was poured. I should add some to the backyard for next season, thanks for the great post!
Stunning canna...yes, the white wall is the perfect background! It brings out that rich orangey red color.
The leaves are beautiful and a great color as well.
Very pretty. I love flower gardens, just wish I was better at weeding.
Beautiful Canna...we have some at our river home, but the blooms grow similarly to yours but each blossom is larger than yours...same color though!
Oh the flowers are so lovely and I like anything bright and reminding me of the warm sunshine! So pretty!
