Lilac trees

While out geocaching with my sister Deb last week we spotted these beautiful Lilac trees. We followed the coordinates to locate the geocache but it had been removed. In the downtown area of West Plains. Mo there were several of these bright pink lilac trees.

We had to have a selfie along with one of them.

I love their splendid color!! Even with all the midwest heat they are thriving.

Greatest Show

Our church just put on a fabulous VBS and the choir had a major role.

We all dressed in fabulous circus characters!!

Our full group of characters!

Children ages 4-10 attended worship sessions alongside their choice of woodworking, art, karate, cheerleading, dance, softball, soccer or archery.

Here I am with my grand-niece and grand nephews after the last nights performance.

All wearing their VBS shirts.

Our Ringmaster and his wife (choir minister and director)

One of the BEST we have ever presented.

Glorious sunset

A few nights ago my husband noticed a glorious sunset though the front room windows. I grabbed my cell phone and went out to the front porch to get a picture.

It had been raining so the street is glistening!! The reflection of the trees shows on the street.  The colors are glorious don't you think?

I see plenty of pink in here plus all shades of red. So happy we noticed this event!!

Columbine

This year my Columbine is extra pretty I think. This pink is so vibrant and mixing in with red just right.

Dragon mural

My oldest granddaughter is a member of her High School Symphony Orchestra and they took a trip last month to San Francisco.   They competed in a nation wide competition and their orchestra placed 2nd in the country!! What a great experience for her and fun for us to see some beautiful pictures.

I really like this one in front of a beautiful dragon mural.

Crown Him

Enjoying a new craft project making crowns for my mantel.  I enjoy searching the mark down isles for beads and trims to adorn my crowns made from tin cans.

Thought my hymn board could emphasize this message very well.

Staying so busy sewing, crafting and volunteer work-need to carve out some time for outside work too since the weather has decided maybe just maybe it's Spring here in Kansas.

Pearly whites

Had a super sister trip to Indiana last week.  We visited a quaint little town, Nashville, Indiana and they had many great stores and restaurants.

We took these pics of this darling deer and we couldn't get over his pearly whites!!!!

He wouldn't be too hard to make--just have those logs available.

Sewing Workbook

I'm loving my new workbook for all of my sewing projects.  Last week my granddaughter and I stopped by the local library for one of their big book sales.

I spied "The Workbasket Sewing Workbook" and jumped at chance to buy it. It was published in 2011 and features the styles of the 1950's fashions.

I'm having the best time taking pictures of my latest sewing projects and listing them and all the particulars that went with it.

All the fashions from the 1950's adorn the pages.

The Workbasket was a magazine that was produced in the 1950's and 60's.

I think I may have at one time had a few copies but now they are long gone.

Keeper cards

I'm a very sentimental kinda girl and I have kept greeting cards and announcements for my entire life.

This card is one my Mom and Dad sent our daughter for Easter probably 40 years ago.

Such a sweet little face!!

This one was sent to us from our grandchildren 15 years ago.

I love the soft colors of Easter--bringing new life to us.

Grow, growing, grown

In 2007 my Mother-in-Law passed away at 98 years old.  We brought this plant home from the services.  It has been transplanted and sitting in my sun-room ever since.

It started out about 10".

I'm concerned it could grow to 10'--haven't decided it's fate yet. That's me standing there to give you perspective.

SEWING

One of my favorite creative things to do is sew. I've been sewing since my 20's but it's been awhile since I have spent time in the sewing room.

This past week I decided to make a pair of spring pants for me--maybe to wear Easter. I will make a top to go with them next week. All they need is hemming.

My hubby wanted a shirt to wear while he was woodworking. I didn't use an expensive fabric but he decided he likes it too much to work in. So now off to buy more fabric for a work shirt.

Here's one of my very favorite actresses with a cute saying that fits today's post.

Have a super productive creative week.

A crazy little thing called love

Last evening our church had their annual Valentines Banquet called "A crazy little thing called love".
Such a fun event--wonderful food, music and entertainment.

They always have a photo booth up and the pictures are gifted to each person.

Also a cute "soda shop" set up for pictures to take with your phone!!

The tables and programs just as cute.

My sister Lori and BIL Greg sat with us at our table.

Making memories with family and friends is the very best.

Hostess gifts

I',m busy making little take-home gifts and two hostess gifts for our Valentine Red Hat luncheon this month.

Russel Stover is the best candy in my opinion (of course the founder started the company and the family lives here in Kansas). It's still delicious!!  I LOVE the strawberry hearts--got one for each gal.  Some other valentine candy for their Valentine bag too.

I found two really cute little items at Hobby Lobby for the drawing!

Something to look at each day on your refrigerator to know you are loved all year long.
