O is for October colors

A wonderful weekend at the lake with lots of gorgeous turning of leaves of October.

My cousin and his wife and my hubby and I took a final trip of the season on his pontoon boat at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

A few  beautiful homes along the lake.

We stayed at a resort/campground for the weekend and was able to use the boat slip.

The mornings we had to use a coat on the water but the afternoons the sun shone and all we had to use was a sweatshirt.

Just a few more weeks of October color and then we will loose all of the leaves. We were glad we could spend the wonderful weekend outdoors.

Amish country-America's Heartland

Just took a trip to northern Missouri to visit my BIL and SIL's.  During the afternoon the girls did some shopping while the guys worked in the barn.

Their is a large Amish community around Jamesport and Jamison and we visited a new store.

In this center they have "Oakridge Furniture".  Handmade furniture made by  the Amish are plentiful.

The waving Petunia's fill a huge planter in the front of the building--glorious in pink.

A dazzling large spool with purple petunias.

My two sister-in-laws enjoying some of the rocking chairs made my the Amish. The chairs are made from composite wood---SO COMFORTABLE.

Notice the swing on the left--we all wanted to take one home.

Don't you love this one.

They have a section of homemade quilts from local artisans for sale.

A wonderful fabric section.

All of the aprons were so pretty--are you ready for Christmas?

The front of the store displays a few examples of beautiful quilt patterns.

What a wonderful day we had, and this tag says so much. Everything made with love by hand.

Oh The Places I've Been

One of the most eventful trips of our lives was to Italy when our children were young.  This picture is taken of my hubby and me on our gondola ride  in Venice.

I love the pictures of the architectural buildings along side the water with the gondolas.

My Sister and her husband along with our Son in this picture.

I thought this was so cool--a one way sign in the alley way!!

The black line on the column denotes the water level during a flood of Venice. From wickepedia : Venice has a history of "aqua alta"- meaning high water. The first official measurements of sea levels began in 1872.

On to go back would be a dream for us.

Hardy, Arkansas

While in the Ozarks last week I took my Mom and Sister on a little day trip from her house and went to visit Hardy, Arkansas.

Several people had told me that it was a great little town for anyone who liked going to shop for antiques or junk with old buildings to enjoy.

We spent five hours and that was enough to take in a great lunch, treats and shop.

My Mom enjoying the center courtyard garden.

Sis posing in front of one of the shops.

We ate at the "Pig N Whistle" Restaurant.

The restaurant is run by a couple of chefs who met while working on a cruise ship.  Her being from Hardy, Arkansas and him from Liverpool, England. They were married and opened this restaurant in Hardy.

My sister had the fish and chips and I had a beef, potato pastie.  Wonderful.

The queen stands in the foyer.

Pictures of several of the buildings and shops.

The above was my favorite--lots of old metal wheels, buckets and everything else.

They had a shop for any interest.

We topped of the day with an ice cream cone from "Hatties"

What a fun town to visit.

College World Series

Today I'm Linking with OH, THE PLACES I'VE BEEN  #10

Sunday for Fathers Day my Daughter and SIL took my hubby and I to the College World Series in Omaha Nebraska.

LSU is my SIL's  team and he's from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It seems everyone from Louisiana is a LSU fan  and they are fanatics--in a good way.  There was probably about half of the stadium full of LSU fans on Sunday, they traveled from everywhere.

We waited in line for the gates to open and for the first game to conclude.

Lots of booths with all kinds of sports attire and trinkets to purchase.

Oh we had to have a Snowball.

Jase Robinson from "Duck Dynasty" who is from Munroe, Louisiana came to the game and said a few words.  GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

This fan was having quite a fun time!!!

My Daughters family

Sadly the Tigers did not win or advance, but we had a great experience.

North Pole - Denver, Colorado

We visited The North Pole park in Denver, Colorado with our Grandson, Son and DIL and really enjoyed this fun family destination.

The tram takes you from your car into the park.

It sets in such a beautiful spot, right in middle of the gorgeous mountains!!

This one is my DIL taking a picture of us  taking a picture of them.
The park has great shopping, eating, and lots of rides for children and some for adults too.

Our Grandson posing for a picture for Nana.

I DO NOT like ferris wheels but I agreed to ride because my Grandson wanted me too--look at the attendants face--he is getting a good laugh out of it!!!!
When your at the top of the ferris wheel--and your already on top of the mountain--it looks REALLY high.

The day ended with our Grandson having a heart-to-heart with Santa.  This park is open year round and such a fun place for families.
