Sunday Stamps

Linking with Viridian today with my first post for Sunday Stamps.  http://viridianpostcard.blogspot.com/

I love collecting old postcards and thought I just might have some interesting stamps to share.

I purchased a vintage yearbook from 1929 a while back and there was a letter addressed  in the book and this stamp was used.
I did some research on google and found some information on the NRA.  It stands for National Recovery Administration.  Legislation was enacted in June 1933 during the Great Depression as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal.   It was devoted to industry recovery  and guaranteed trade union rights and regulated the price of petroleum.

Issued to direct and arouse attention and support of the nation.  Hence showing four people from totally walks of life, and the phrase "In a Common Determination".

Isn't it funny how this stamp is addressing the same things in our Nation today??

Enjoy your new week.

I am thinking of trying some different themes, but not sure what I want to do. This is a great one and you have lots to share. I have very few things with old stamps on them.

Ann, as I was reading your post about the NRA, I was thinking the same thing - how the goals still are topical today.
Thank you for the history, and thank you for participating. I hope to see you next week. If you can't follow the theme, you can always choose what ever you wish.

Just exactly what I was thinking as I read your post. Very interesting and informative. Very up to date topic.

I like the stamp with teamwork, but I strongly dislike your blog font jumping up and down - an unnecessary obstacle against legibility. Think about it. :)

Interesting history with this stamp. I would have been looking for what NRA meant.
