FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE

Day 9 "Sweet for the sweet".  Join Liz @ Brambleberry Cottage for Fourteen Days of Love

This is my children's and grandchildren's favorite cookie.  Any time there  is a family dinner or holiday, they ask me to make these.  They are not fancy and are so easy to make.  They are a chewy pull apart-NO BAKE cookie.  I'm sorry I do not have a picture of these, but take my kids word for it-they are yummy.

CORN FLAKE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE

1 Cup corn syrup
1 Cup sugar
1 1/2 cups peanut buttter
6 Cups cornflakes

Mix corn syrup and sugar in a large saucepan.  Bring to boil, cook about 1 minute.  Remove from heat, stir in peanut butter  and corn flakes.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto foil.  Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.

I did find a picture of Christmas a few years ago with my grandchildren sneaking a peek of the goodies before dinner.

Have a really SWEET DAY.

BUE MONDAY

Today is Mondays post with Sally over at Smiling Sallys Blue Monday.
My entry is all about my garden bathroom with touches of blue.  My sister is an artist specializing in murals.
She painted this darling mama bird feeding her babies in their nest.  This sits ontop on the corner of the door to the bathroom.
I tried to add touches of blue to the bathroom even though is is pained a carmel color with a carmel and brown brick floor.
I added a hand made valance that is made of a scroll of branches.  I added birds and blue butterflys.

We use either solid blue towels or ones with blue accents.
My picture that hangs is one with a verse that we really do love.
Finally our shower curtain is a garden with bird houses and butterflys. Even in the dead of the winter our bathroom looks like spring.
Please visit Sally to see other Blue Monday Posts.
Until next time.

FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE

Today is # 6 in the party Fourteen Days of Love hosted by Liz at Brambleberry Cottage.  Please see her blog for the remaining posts.

Day 6 is Oh your so crafty (special crafts that are dedicated to love).
As  I was going through the house today looking for things I had made that are dedicated to love, I ran across the photos of my granddaughters in their cousins wedding.  I have always sewn clothes for members of the family and my niece asked if I would make the girls dresses.

Since Sophie was a Junior Bride, I found a pattern that looked exactly like the brides.  The colors were black and red so I made Olivia, the flower girl a dress with a big red sash.
Thank you all for following my blog, this is a delight to share what I enjoy doing.

PINK SATURDAY

I'm joining Beverly @ How Sweet The Sound for my first Pink Saturday.  I've been shopping at ebay and found this little chalkware Lamb.  I had been looking for one for quite a while and I love this one.    The soft blue bow sets off the soft pink color.
I also have several teapots and especially love the movie "Beauty and the Beast." My mom gave me this singing  (Mrs. Potts) teapot for Christmas several years ago.

Lastly, I have a faux fur pink jacket that I wear for special occasions.  Along with it an antique beaded purse with pink flowers at special times too.  Since it is still winter and the coat is still in my closet, I will post it and the purse.
I plan on wearing these to the Valentine Banquet at our church next weekend.  These two items I also purchased on ebay.

FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE DAY 5

Continuing on with "Fourteen Days of Love" with Liz @Brambleberry Cottage.
Day 5 is Seeing Red.

My first entry is a card that my Mother made probably in about 1938.  I found this in a box of cards that my Grandma kept that she had receieved over the years.  My Mom must have made this for her mom and dad for valentines day since it is in the sharp of a heart.  My grandmother kept boxes of momentos and I'm the one who really had an interest in anything like this, so they all went to me a few years ago when she passed away.  The outside of her card with little red flowers.

I also inclued a few pictures of some old cards I had kept, I think the little kitty with the red bow tie is so cute.  My favorite bookmark decked out in red.
Finally my daughter created a calendar for me for 2009 and each month had pictures of my granddaughtes, I haven't got the HEART to throw it out.

Hope everyone has  fun seeing RED.

VINTAGE THINGIE THURSDAY & FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE

I'm linking with two hostesses today.  1st is Vintage Thingie Thursday, with Suzanne @ Colorado Lady.  I had an antique poster of "Wizard of Oz" that my sister gave me as a gift and had it  framed and hung in my family room.  I collect any and all memorability of the classic book and movie.

I purcased this iron piece a few months ago, I have no idea what it is but it looked interesing.
It has an opening at the top so I have decided to use it as a vase, it put some tulips in it so you could get an idea what it looks like.  I love it.

Next is Fourteen Days of Love hosted by Liz at Brambleberry Cottage.

Today is Day #4-
Straight to the heart-show us your hearts.
First I created this little Valentine House with red hearts on the windows.
Next next is a little heart shaped crystal dish with red hearts and a gold  heart trivet.  Next some hearts that I made to decorate my kitchen.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE DAY 3

Day 3 to join Liz @ Brambleberry Cottage for Fourteen Days of Love.  "Pretty in Pink that warms your heart".

I have started to use a number of pinks the the house.  We just completed a new sunroom and I have a few pinks in there.  This is an antique card holder I use at holidays, this time there are old cards with  little girls in pink.

My next picture is of a pink hand  painted tray I intend to hang in the new room.

I am going to add some new pillows made from the fabric I have laid against a chair, I think it will all tie in.
Lastly is a picture of my granddaughters in a pink frame, what could warm your heart anymore.

Have a wonderful day and check out all the Days of Love posts.
