5K Run

SUNDAY UPDATE - OUR CHURCH RAISED $20,000 ON SATURDAY

Our church had a 5K run today to support the fight against Human Trafficking. Kansas City is in the top 10 cities in the United States which has a large problem with children and women being kidnapped and enticed into this life.

The last number I heard was 300 running but lots of people donating $ to the cause.

We had runners, joggers and walkers.

The starting group--runners in the front!!
There is spots of PINK to pick out.

My daughter and I.

Our Pastor giving a wave.

Three of my close friends who were workers.

Daughter finishing her run.

Lots of well wishers.

Here I am finishing my walk with a good friend Kristie.

Hopefully we raised a large sum of money for these precious victims who need everyone to be aware of the plight that they are facing.

Linking with PINK SATURDAY and BLUE MONDAY

This is a great cause! It is hard to believe it is 2014 and slavery still exists, albeit illegally!

What a great cause and you always share such great photos! My husband talked about this when we were first married and people pooh poohed him! I never heard much about it anywhere until Oprah talked about it on her show! Weird how people believe celebrities. But nothing has been done to stop it. It is like gang violence, it just grows and grows. Very sad.

Hello Ann,

What a good idea to help a super cause. I've recently learned that Tampa is a top city in human trafficking. Our church is also doing something to help the "good guys."

Your daughter and you are two lovely ladies. Thanks for sharing.

Have a Happy Blue Monday!
