I've had this little framed piece quite a few years. I used to collect patriotic memorabilia more than I do now but I couldn't let go of this.

The back says "As a token of our loyalty and respect to the member of your family who serves in the Armed Forces of America".

I imagine this was given out for WWII families considering the frame, glass and actual cloth STAR, paper and cording.
Thank you to Mrs. Nesbitt and Roger for the opportunity to play along each week on our alphabet adventure.

Wonderful collectible.
I really like the patriotic theme and the age that shows.
Very original for the letter S.
It's always sad when they are gold stars, noting a lost member of the Armed Forces.

I wonder what happened that this didn't stay with a family member. I can't imagine letting go of it.
It is interesting that someone let something special like the star leave the family.
I am sure you must treature this symbol.

Thanks for sharing pieces of your treasures.
there must be an interesting story behind this memorabilia. like the others, i wonder why it left the owner's place.
I am considering a post on Gold Star Mothers for Memorial Day. That one isn't "gold" but I'm wondering if it is a gold stat none the less.
Love that framed art and what it says:) Have a blessed weekend, HUGS!
