My contribution the letter W is WORSHIP.

I am so thankful that I live in a country that I have the freedom and priviledge to WORSHIP as I want to.  I belong to our church choir and we sing each weekend.  We consider ourselves WORSHIP leaders to the congregation.

From Encyclopedia Britannica:

broadly defined, the response to the appearance of that which is accepted as the holy-that is, to a sacred, transcendent power or being. Characteristic modes of response to the holy include cultic acts of all kinds: ritual drama, prayers of many sorts, dancing, ecstatic speech, veneration of various persons and objects, sermons, silent meditation, and sacred music and song. Also included in worship are acts of private response: spoken or unspoken prayers, silence, the assumption of particular postures, ritual acts and gestures, and individual acts of veneration of persons or objects.
Some examples of our worship services:

The stage was set for the week of "Breakaway" (our childrens vacation bible school).

A regulare weekend set.

Our congregation can number in the hundreds and we have screens for the WORSHIPERS who are not familiar with a particular song.  We do not have hymnals.

Our WORSHIP goes outside the church building also, we have what we call "LIFE GROUPS".  Their are around 150 groups of 10 to 20 people who meet in homes twice a month for fellowship and bible study--to do life together.

Stop by and read all the other ABC posts this week.

My word you must attend a very large church. Wish you would send some of them to my church. We need more young folks.

I love the idea of the words on the screen, an infinite choice rather than relying just on one book.

Great concept for this weeks post! Something that many of us do but don't have it front and center in our thoughts (enough).
