Friday Fence Post - Beautiful farm fence

As we we're driving along the interstate on our way to Manhattan, Kansas to meet our grandson Cody to stay the week we spotted this beautiful farm.

The fence looks like it went on for miles and such a beautiful white! Would love to own a place like this.

Grandson stayed until today, going back home to Colorado.  Will see him again this summer.

Have a great weekend.

Rednesday - Red Door To Nowhere

http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/

Linking up with Sue at It's a Verry Cherry World today.   A few weeks ago at the St. Patricks Day parade, I noticed a red door that certainly stood out! --Stood out to nowhere.

My camera is always on my wrist and thought this was quite unique.

I sincerely hope they do not have young children, or sleepwalkers in this family.  Its a beautiful bright red door--but no where to go but down!!!!!

We lived in New Mexico years ago and I developed a love for Aztec and Mexican architecture.  I purchased this book on vacation a few years ago in New Mexico on "The Doors of San Miguel" by Robert de Gast.

Here is the front and a few of the pictures that I really enjoy looking at.

Both of the homes we lived in were made of adobe brick, brown and a rose color.

Have a good Rednesday.

Pink Saturday - Scrapbook Pages

http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/

I am "Lady Ann - Keeper of the Scrapbook"  in our Red Hat group and I just finished the 2010 book.  Before handing it off to our Queen Mother I thought I would share one of the pink pages I did.

The invitation that was sent out was a princess so I carried on that theme in the book for that party.

We participated in a local fall parade here.  Such a fun event.

Today is another monthly event and I am co-hosting.  I purchased this journal for a drawing.

Us girls love being in a close-knit group, we have fun thats all, no work just play.

Have a super pink day.

I'm sharing a couple of  adds made into pictures I purchased several years ago. They are very sweet little images.

Seems kinda funny they used little children to advertise medicine for stomach ailments, I certainly wouldn't give it to them!!!

Loving this week, warm days, cool nights.  Have a good one yourselves.

Sunday Stamps # 11 - Irish, Shamrock or Green

http://viridianpostcard.blogspot.com/

I really did look for a stamp with a shamrock or Irish but to no avail.  I did have a postcard with this GREEN stamp.  Mailed in 1934 with a stamp  from Yosemite National Park.

I have another stamp from Antigua.  Antigua is an island in the West Indies.  Antigua means "ancient" in Spanish and was named by Christopher Columbus.

Hummingbirds are such beautiful creatues, this one is so pretty with the purple and green.

Have a super Sunday!!!

Rednesday

http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/

This is such a cheerful meme, red makes so many people smile, come see what Sue's friends are sharing today!!

On a recent thrift store trip, I found this great little red box.  It was orignially for some type of food, the box says cuisine.  It find it is perfect for small scrapbooking and tag making gems.

This vintage sewing needle pack was all bundled up with vintage postcards. I adore the pictures of the ladies and the little girl.  This past week I stared teaching my granddaughters, 9 and 7 to use  the sewing machine. They are so excited!!!

The ladies are so dressed up to use a sewing machine. LOVE IT.

Happy Rednesday to ya all.

Fence Post Friday and Blue Monday

Linking with two parties today
Last week we had beautiful clear weather.  Sunny BLUE skies, to add to BLUE MONDAY.   We decided to go out for lunch for mexican food. (our favorite).  We visited an urban part of town which has wonderful resturants.

I couldn't help but notice this unique fence I thought I could include on Fence Post FridayI guess it takes all kinds of fences, this one keeps the cars from driving over the railroad tracks. But I think a few cars have over estimated parking (don't you)......

Today we're back to winter, it's snowing, going to get around 2".  We're going to see-saw for a few weeks I guess.

Hopefully it's a bright BLUE monday where you are!!!!

Sunday Stamps

Linking with Viridian today with my first post for Sunday Stamps.  http://viridianpostcard.blogspot.com/

I love collecting old postcards and thought I just might have some interesting stamps to share.

I purchased a vintage yearbook from 1929 a while back and there was a letter addressed  in the book and this stamp was used.
I did some research on google and found some information on the NRA.  It stands for National Recovery Administration.  Legislation was enacted in June 1933 during the Great Depression as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal.   It was devoted to industry recovery  and guaranteed trade union rights and regulated the price of petroleum.

Issued to direct and arouse attention and support of the nation.  Hence showing four people from totally walks of life, and the phrase "In a Common Determination".

Isn't it funny how this stamp is addressing the same things in our Nation today??

Enjoy your new week.

Pink Saturday - New Pink Sewing Basket

Today I'm sharing a new (vintage) sewing basket I found recently.  It has a very pretty flowered top of green  leaves and pink  flowers.

It is a beautiful wicker and the  bottom of the inside also decorated.  I really like the edge on the inside for thread.  Since I do a lot of sewing, I'm really excited to use this.

Inside it was full of thread, emboidery thread, needles, a ruler, zippers, buttons, patterns and a vintage Floral Doilies book.  Also a plastic case full of bobbins ( 20) full of thread.

I plan on re-doing my craft room, I would really like a cottage-style room.  Wouldn't this look pretty in there?  I purchased this sewing basket with all of the contents for $5.00.

Wouldn't a big overstuffed pink chair be great in there too.

Oh a girl can dream can't she?
