Vintage Thingie Thursday - glass dishes

Today is the day to join Suzanne @http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/and show off all those vintage goodies.

I have had these glass pieces for quite a few years.  I really love this first dish, it is so interesting.  The dish is decorated with an egyptian motif.  There are pyramids,  palm trees and a  phinx etched on the glass.
If anyone has any knowledge about this pattern, I'd really like to know the maker, date of production--there are no markings anywhere on the piece.  I've had this dish probably about 30 years.

My next posting is a glass butter dish, I think this one is depression glass.I enjoy using this for company.
Hope you have a super Thursday.

Ann

I don't think I've ever seen one like your first piece, Ann. That is so unique. And I love the geometric design of the second piece. It's funny that you should have pink pieces of Depression glass because one of my close friends collected amber years ago. Her sister collected pink and also green. I've always thought the latter two were so pretty, especially on an Easter table.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Haven't seen that type of glassware, and it is also years since I've seen a butter dish.
Nice memories.

Those are both pretty pieces. The Egyptian motif is so interesting. Your depression butter dish would almost match a covered refrigerator dish I have from my grandma.

Wonderful glassware! My mother would have been over the moon happy seeing your dish, she loved Egyptology. I wonder if it could be a souvenir dish from a trip to Egypt?? :)

Happy VTT!

What a very interesting piece that first one is- I don't think I've ever seen an Egyptian themed glass piece before, only ever on ceramic/pottery type pieces. I'd love to find out more info about it! And is it the light or is it pink? How wonderful- a unique pattern and a pretty color!
