Outdoor Wed.- Strawberries

Today let's show our GREEN THUMB with Susan @http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspotcom/

Bring on the strawberry shortcake, ice cream sundies, bananna splits-Do I have you hungry yet?

My strawberries are doing so well--this is what I pick this morning and there are many more on the plants to ripen.

I also picked up some annuals today.  Some wave petunias, mexican feather grass and diamond frost.  I planted just a few of the petunias in a couple of clay pots, I'll plant more tommorrow.  It was humid and 88 degrees today--just so hot.  I planted 4 new areas with gourds and after that I was really over heated.
The flower stand is an old disgarded sewing machine side that I found.

Have a great time outside with all the activities this weekend.

Your strawberries look great, they are doing better than mine! (Any hints you'd like to share???) Love the "domestic" on the side of the sewing machine stand!

I love strawberries any way you fix them. I eat a lot of cereal and they so good on it. That is a great idea for that old machine part.

Saw your patriotic comment on Anne's blog and wanted to visit.

Question for you. Do you do anything to your strawberry patch to keep weeds out or just let nature do it's thing?

Once we had a patch and some grass took over. We couldn't pull the grass or we'd destroy the runners.

Lucky you to have that sewing machine stand. My inlaws have one and they always look so nice outside surrounded by plants.

Your strawberries look so delicious. I love the plant stand, what a great find.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You asked about the snake grass. We planted it in a large clay pot.

if you come to the prairie, stop by Linderhof for lunch or at least a cup of tea. Just let me know when you'll be here!
