Today was my regular appt for haircut and I had seen these items in the shop before but never thought of blogging about them.
A while back my hair stylist found a vintage hair-curler from probably the 1920's. She HAD to have it.
Can you imagine having this contraption attached to your locks??? What if there was a power surge!!!
Also on her wall hung this photo of a hairdresser in that era.
Sorry about the glare of the windows. Loved picking out the items in the picture-telephone-hat on hat rack, I can't tell what she's using in her hair.
Thought you might get a kick out this bygone method.

How scary would that be to have that contraption on your head!! That is a hoot!! So glad you took a picture of it....boy we sure have come a long way!! Happy VTT, Ann!
I have had my hair curled many times on these type machines. My,yuou brought back memories.
Ive never seen anything like that and my 87 year old grandmother was a hairdresser all her life, very interesting!
Ann, just me again. Trust me those vintage cars were not on Hwy.70. I am not sure where we were as Suzanne was doing the driving. Some little off road.
ewwww...bet that gave you a good case of the frizzies! !
This is fabulous! I've NEVER seen anything like that scary hair contraption... :(
Blessings, Debbie
The vintage hair curler reminds me of a milking machine. I seem to remember seeing it used on an episode of "The Waltons" - but that was a long time ago (the '70s). Thanks for making me happy with my 'wash and go' hair.
We all to ask LV about her experiences with that contraption! Wow! I would hate to pay the electric bill! LOL! Love that b/w photo Classy. Anne
