Eric Samuel Timm

Do you enjoy special speakers at church?  We occasionally have one and Eric Samuel Timm (EST) spoke at our church Youth Conference last week and on Sunday.

He is a very talented speaker who is also an artist, orator and author. His live art performance is captivating.

What a spectacular method he has to reach people of any age. His appearance is not your typical evangelist, he dresses casual, has tattoos and a small earring.

He does not ask any certain amount for his artwork, he only asks for a donation. I wanted to buy this one but I don't have a wall big enough.

You can view all of his artwork, books, sermons, clothing on his website.

We do not have outside speakers as we barely can afford the pastor. Our church is old but beautiful, and mostly seniors on a low budget.

Great post. I've seen a similar artist show. Great way to encourage people to visit the church.

Hi Ann,

Our church does have guest speakers, and I'm always fascinated by them. Thanks for playing today.

Please come back and tell me what you think of my service dog post.

Happy Blue Monday!

First, that is a great photo of EST on the turquoise couch, and your second photo has wonderfully vibrant blues behind his painting. EST does indeed appear to be quite a free spirit and he has a great smile. It looks like you have a very modern lecture-theatre at your church (if that is what I was seeing). We don't really have a church but we attend the Jazz Vespers services quite regularly on Sunday afternoons at St. Andrew's Wesley United. They have a Liturgist, often Rev. Dan Chambers, the acting lead minister of the church. We enjoy him very much. He expresses thoughts between each song that somehow include a wide variety of religions and persuasions and we always leave the service with a feeling of having been enriched with ideas that promote peace and encourage a spirit of friendship.

Jesus is cool, but lots of church folk make Him inaccessible. I assume this guy's a good one.

Do the more conservative folks in your church appreciate his approach? Or is it that he draws in more unorthodox people and youth? He sounds like someone I'd like to see/hear some day.

I'd like to hear this man speak he sounds most
interesting, the preachers in our church send me to
sleep, they are so boring, hence the reason I seldom attend!
Although, I like to attend our Anglican Cathedral just to hear the
choir sing, they are wonderful and sacred music inspires me...
That's my way of reaching God and praying most nights!

Best wishes,
Di.

I guess my church is rather unorthodox.
We have vibrant Pastors and some amazing guest speakers.
Chris Brown from North Coast Church in San Diego is one of my favorites.
The artwork is wonderful, a bit like David Garabaldi's.
Tat's and earrings don't bother me at all.

Anybody who is enthusiastic about Jesus must be worth listening to! We have a great woman-minister in our community. She is modern and uses up to date issues to add in her services. Sometimes we have guest preachers, who are also interesting to hear.
Thanks. for your post!

We would welcome any pastor who would stir up the congregation and inspire the community!

As I never go to church except on funerals and weddings, I can't say if I like special speakers or not.:)

Here in New England churches are much smaller than they are in other parts of the country. We don't get guest speakers very often. It looks like he was a very interesting speaker.

Yes, I always enjoy the special speakers at our church. My church is so small, I'm just about kin to everyone there, though!
I absolutely LOVE your header pic of the Wizard of Oz in the clouds. I like to collect things from the movie, also.
Thanks for visiting my blog,
Dorothy
