My younger sister calls them LONG LEGGED DADDIES and it has stuck with us ever since. Doesn't that make you giggle!!
Some facts:
1. They are not spiders, they are arachnids.
2. They are not venomous
3. They do not produce silk--no webs.
4. They have one pair of eyes and a fused body.
5. There are at least 10,000 differed species of Daddy Long Legs
6. They hang out in large clumps (this can look creepy)
7. They live in every part of the world.
After doing some research on google I found out there are several movies made called "Daddy Long Legs.
I also found a singing group called Daddy Long Legs. They are a group from the Vietnam and Draft era from the 1970's.
Have to admit, I had never heard of them.
My thanks goes out to Roger and Mrs. Nesbitt for continuing every round of ABC Wednesday.

Oh Ann! I enjoyed reading the book " Daddy Longlegs" immensely.
The animal called Daddy Longlegs is not a spider and not an insect either, for it has 8 legs.
Thanks for this interesting post
Have a great weekend.

ah yes they are lovely creatures
I care for long legged creatures that present themselves just about when I am settling down for a good night's sleep.
This when Chloe cat springs into action and bops the poor thing around the bedroom and landing until she's satisfied it's
deceased!
Best wishes,
Di,

Daddy long legs never bothered me, but they bothered others.
