ABC Wednesday - L is for Linger

Today I'm featuring the word LINGER for L.  This word doesn't come up lot in conversation but when it does I think it packs a punch.

To linger is to be reluctant in leaving, to want to remain longer than you can.  Has there been a point in your life you didn't want a situation to end?

Some great times come to mind- when our children were young and we want those memories to linger.  Maybe its a period in your life when you and your spouse had a marvelous adventure.

I'm  experiencing a different kind of lingering today.

My Mom is up here in the city in the hospital with blood clots in her lungs.  This is second time in the past year she has developed them.  She is 86 and I'm really feeling that I want to linger here with her as long as I can.  Its difficult when you have other responsibilities at home to take care of but also be with her.

I am so fortunate to have such special memories of my Mom all through my life, what a VERY SPECIAL lady she is.  I'm staying with her as much as I can and giving her my undivided attention.

Isn't she a cutie.  This was taken at Christmas last year.

Ann, I hope that your mother recovers soon, and yes, she is a gorgeous lady. I understand wanting to linger with her. I truly do. There have been times when I didn't want a day to end it was so special, and I cherish the moments I'm with loved ones.

XO,

Sheila

Take advantage of your time together. Linger as long as you can. It's time well spent and will be a forever memory.
Your Mom is lovely and I pray that the problems will be resolved.

She's beautiful, Ann. I hope she gets well soon. I often feel I want to linger too at this point in time, at this age where my kids are at. Someday, I'm hoping my kids would talk about me the way you talk about your mom, with much love, respect and pride.

Hi Anne...Looks like we are both into the alphabet.

I’m back to CollectInTexas Gal for the month of April with the AtoZ Blogging Challenge. My theme this year is based on two of my favorite subjects ‘Vintage Quilts and Texas’…AtoZ LoneStar Quilting Bee. I’ve missed visiting you and receiving your always welcomed comments, and I hope you will have a chance to come by for a visit and meet the ladies of the LoneStar Quilting Bee. I’ll be there, too.

Your mom is a stunning woman! She looks like a movie star, and far younger than her 86 years! I hope she enjoys a speedy recovery... no one wants to Linger in a hospital!! My own mom was hospitalized a pulmonary embolism in January. First time that's ever happened (she's 77 and doesn't take any meds, except for the pills she has to take now because of the clots).
