A Friday ritual inspired by Soulemama. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Vintage Thingie Thursday - Garden Gnomes

http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/

Last week on vacation I stopped at a junk store and found these adorable garden gnomes.  They are a hard plastic, there are no markings on them.  From looking on ebay, it looks like they were made in the 1950's.

Wickipedia tells me that gnomes started in Germany and they are men with beards, red hats and usually smoke a pipe.  The first ones were made of plaster and some still are.

I haven't decided where to put them in my gardens yet.

It was 108 degrees today so I didn't feel like trying them in different spots.

Have a super Vintage day.

Outdoor Wednesday - Boulder Garden, Buena Vista, Co.

http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/
Outdoor Wednesday is our chance to link up with other "outdoor enthusiasts" and share our photos. Check out all the great blogs with Susan.

Our grandchildren loved playing at this park in Buena Vista.

In the same park there were walking trails next to the roaring Arkansas River. Just gorgeous.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

We took some really cool pictures over the 4th of July.  My grands were lighting smoke bombs with Uncle B and they weren't doing very well. The threw some in the fire in the firepit and made beautiful colors.

It's been mighty hot here in Kansas over the last week, I took this picture about 7:30 PM yes PM---.

Thats 106 degrees.

Its suppose to cool down some the rest of the week--we're staying inside quite a bit.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Pink Saturday - Beautiful pink architecture

http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

Had lunch with a few good friends today, I took some snapshots of the architecture of the Kansas City Plaza.  Most of the buildings are a beautiful light soft pink.  We ate at the Cheescake  Factory and I took a few shots of the ceiling and one of the columns.

Kansas City's Country Club Plaza

The Country Club Plaza (often referred to as The Plaza) is an upscale shopping district and residential neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. It was the first shopping center in the world designed to accommodate shoppers arriving by automobile.  The shopping center comprises of 55 acres. The Kansas state line is one mile (1.6 km) to the west. Established in 1922 by J. C. Nichols and designed architecturally after Seville, Spain, the Plaza comprises high-end retail establishments, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as offices.

Kansas City Mo. is known as the City of Fountains and many are located on the Country Club Plaza.

Hope you have a super weekend.  Stay in the PINK.

Rednesday - Fun at the lake

http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/

What a glorious, warm and fun event we had over the 4th of July holiday. We spent 5 days with my sis Deb at her lake home.

Here are some red pics to share.
Deb's patriotic table.

Her deck all "decked out"!

What could be better that two red patriot grands doing smoke bombs!!

They had a fireworks display over the lake, we took the pontoon out and watched all the glory.

Hope your time was filled with the love of family too.
