Pink Saturday - Crafting with netting and Healthy eating

http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
What pink gems do we have today? Beverly always has so much for all of us girls.

Have you ever looked for a soft netting and only needed a small amount for a trim for clothing or a craft project but it only came in bolts?
I discovered a way to find netting much cheaper.

Enter the loufa or bath net (is there a proper name).

When you take this apart you end up with 82" of the perfect size trim. Around 4 to 5 inches in width.
And they come in the greatest colors.

For what.... .99 cents  you get a great piece of netting to work with.

I  also want to feature a book I have been following for the past 6 weeks.  I have changed my eating "lifestyle".  This author Dr. Mike Moreno has written this diet book and he has discovered a way to confuse our metabolism and keep us loosing and not reaching a plateau!!!

There are 4 phases - each phase consists of 17 days. Each phase you add more foods so your body learns to control portions and types of foods.    My hubby has lost 20 and I have lost 10 lbs.

I

The book is NOT available in bookstores only on-line at the 17 Day Diet Website.

Have yourself a great pink saturday.

Ann

Even the diet book is pink - it has to be good if it is pink. Glad it has worked and it sounds like you believe in it. I love the netting idea - spoken like a true creative person - always looking for what could be in things!
Happy Pink Saturday, Ann!

Way to go Ann! We are getting back on the wagon tomorrow. I tried while hubby was gone but it's had to do alone. I only gained 4 lbs on the cruise! Amazing what you can do when you turn away breads and stick to one dessert lol Your netting idea is perfect, can't wait to see how you use it.

Happy Pink Saturday Ann Sweetie....
Oh you clever little thing you, who would have thought to take a shower scrubby apart and make it into trim. Now they come in such beautiful colors too, and so inexpensive. Now what can I make with some of that. I am going to have to think about that.

Love the book, and will have to check out the site. Being an insulin diabetic, I have basically given up all carbs (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cakes, cookies) I only meat and vegetable and sugar free jello and fruits. It isn't easy dieting and I take my hat off to you both. Congrats sweetie.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

wow...wow and double wow. What a fabulous idea. Have you ever tried cutting that stuff? It's awful. I needed some for little bags I was making and ended up buying "rounds" of it at a bridal department. I am definitely putting this idea on the bulletin board. HPS xo

I have been looking for toul (sp) at stores for ages, U used to wear crinolines made out of it under my formals. These are the magic answer. You are just too good for sharing this idea. I can’t wait to hit WallyWorld and get me some. Also, I have been hearing about the book. I want to buy it. Glad to know where it is offered.

You are so right about finding netting when you need just a bit. What a nice edging it would make on a wash cloth...a scrubby washcloth...LOL! Congrats on your Diet Success! You Go Girl! Happy Pink Saturday!

That's SO SMART!!! I love that idea.

SO, you're a Kansan, huh? Well, I'm from Missouri! Your snow looks very deep!! That was wonderful that you got help clearing your drive. My hubs had a heart attack, too....in 2002, right after the horrible ice storm (it hit on Jan. 30....and the 2011 Blizzard came on Jan. 31.....I hate January! :) Anyway, I know the shoveling limitations put on those guys. I do lots of shoveling if his snowblower isn't working. I'm always grateful when it is! :)

My little Gr. Girl had a Wiz. of Oz BD Party when she turned three (she's 4......had a Charlotte's Web party this year). Anyway, she loves that movie. I'm crazy about that awesome Tin Man Valentine card you have on your sidebar!!!

Hope you've had a great Pink Saturday!!! dana

That loofa has me thinking about the sponge bath I took on Wednesday morning in my kitchen. We lost power on Monday nite only to get it back today(Sunday) and I decided to take a sponge bath the old fashioned way. My husband heated a bowl of water on the kerosene heater and I put a towel on the kitchen floor-not realizing how much soap gets caught in those things-I had so much soap all over me and then couldn't get it off(would have had to heat 10 bowls of water!). I had to go to my parents house on my lunch hour from work to get all the soap off-but at least I was clean-Hope everything is going good for you-I so appreciate electricity!
