ANGELS AMONG US
MATTHEW 18:10

From the Message Bible

"Watch out that you don't treat a single one of these childlike believers arrogantly.  You realize, don't you, that their PERSONAL ANGELS are constantly in touch with my Father in heaven?"

Yes, I certainly believe that we ALL have a personal angel in our  lives today.

My Son-in-law Jeff went to college and made close friends for life.  When my daughter  Andi and Jeff got married one of these friends Darin was the best man.

About four years ago Darin developed colon cancer at the age of 37--he spent many hours on treatment--in and out of remission.  Darin waited to get married and have children. And at the time his little boy was a toddler.

A few months ago Darin lost his earthly battle and went to be with Jesus.  The last week of his life he was in Hospice House and my children went to see him.  Because they had no babysitter our granddaughters went along and waited in the waiting room

Sophie who is 8 years old (Who was healed of Cystic Fibrosis two years ago)  said this to her parents as they were entering the building:

MOMMY AND DADDY--YOU KNOW ANGELS LIVE HERE.  My daughter said ofcourse they do honey.  SHE SAID-- NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I SEE THEM EVERYWHERE. ON THE STEPS. AS THEY ENTERED THE BUILDING SHE SAID SHE SAW THEM ALL OUTSIDE EVERYONE'S ROOM!!!!!!!

My daughter was able later to relate this story to Darin's mother, wife and siblings.  What a comfort this was for them.  God chooses to use people in our lives to comfort us when we need it the most.

This is a picture of Darin's memorial book--this was taken when he was in one of his remission periods.  We was loving life and went to the top of a mountain to declare it.

Hopefully this story touches you all and reminds you that we do have angels who watch over us.

Ann

Ann, you have brought me to tears. You have given us all such a wonderful post and tribute to a perfect family. I have always believed in angels and you certainly have them around you. Such sadness and sorrow, but such love and support. Happy Pink Saturday my friend, and Happy Miracle Saturday too, Char
We are all blessed, we just need to open our hearts and let it all in.

Oh Ann,
Yes, angels ARE everywhere! Your post reminded me of the story of the little boy who kept bugging his parents that he HAD TO talk to his new baby brother as soon as he was born!!! When the baby was born, the parents left him alone with his brother. They listened at the door and heard the little boy ask his brother: "Can you tell me what God looks like... cause I forgot"!
Have a blessed Pink Saturday sweet friend!
Sparkly Hugs,
Tobi and the Pixies!

Ann, another touching and heartbreaking story. Life is never easy and hard to understand. If we all could just have the faith of a child, how blessed we would be.

Your story is giving me goose bumps. I know Darin is in heaven. I had a baby who died when he was 8 days old and the only time I was relieved was after I dreamt about him laughing so hard while Jesus was playing with him. I believe in angels and my baby is one of them now.....Christine

It is so hard to see a great fight by someone with cancer and then lose them, but If they have a wonderful place to go, and we know they do, in time our hearts will heal. Sometimes I wonder if the fight is won even if they pass on. I was taught early in nursing school there is not always a cure, but there is always a healing. Blessing.

My little sister went with my mom to stay with my grandmother when she died. Carson was only 2 and was told Memommy went to live with Jesus. For many years to come she asked to go back to the hospital and visit with Jesus! She also had long conversations with God as a child. It was always helped my mom to see her little one so close to him! This was a lovely post thank you so much for sharing!

Ann, Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful story of another life touched by cancer, I lost my best girlfriend in 1999 to cancer and she waged a real battle and I know she is in heaven and one of my many angels along with my husband my favorite of angels. I have lost sooooo many people to cancer including her that I had to share my story of a different struggle just so you all would have a few smiles amongst the tears and it was to difficult to choose which persons to share. We all have struggles of a different nature and many ups and downs so can appreciate the beautiful gift of life we have been given. Blessings to you. Heartful Hugs, marilou

Hello Ann, your story of Darin is very sad. The good thing is it gives us the wonderful message of angels in our lives. I love the photo with the angel. Your story touched my heart. It sure makes one realize how we are blessed.

Thank you for your kind comment about our daughter. It truly was hard to write about it. She suffers with pain in her legs to this day. She still carries on with her nursing no matter what. We are so proud of her.

Thank you for sharing Darin's story. I am sure he has a special place in Heaven.

Blessings to you, Jeanne

Wow, what a special gift for his family to receive...hearing about the angels. It is amazing what God can do....but really it shouldn't be that hard to believe. He is the ALpha and the Omega!

Great story for PS Miracle Makeover.

Ann, What a beautiful story. That little Sophie was right!!! My dad, who was a military man, had an angelic visitation when he was very sick and soon after that he went home to Jesus! He was so overcome with peace and joy it was unspeakable to him. He just didn't have words to describe the joy this being transmitted to him.
Thanks for this wonderful reminder from Matthew.

I so agree with you-angels are everywhere! This was a very poignant post. Thanks so much for sharing this story about miracles and hope.

I have a quote on my sidebar about angels that you might like:
"Children often have imaginary playmates...half of them are really their guardian angels."

Blessings and best wishes,
Natasha.

Happy Pink Saturday, Ann. Thank you for making Pink Saturday special, and for taking part in this day of celebration and thanks.

There truly are miracles going on all around us every day. We just have to open our hearts in acceptance.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I am weeping at the heavenly angels witnessed by your sweet girl. I will always remember this.

I'm still hoping to reach my goal of 200 comments by midnight tonight.
