Seeing Y's

Traveling across the Kansas plains you see plenty Y's in the form of Wind turbines.  There are more than 52,000 of them across 41 states.

Kansas ranks 5th in wind production alongside also being  known as the Wheat State and Sunflower State.

I caught these from our car, Ynot take some shots!!!

The biggest wind project was completed in 2017 outside Dodge City Kansas. It has 122 turbines. To give you an idea if you haven't seen them in person, the blades are 173 feet long and the towers are 262 feet high.

I really enjoy seeing the size difference up against the farm machinery.

Huge and powerful; I think they play a useful part in power production. It is hard to get wind turbines installed in California, there are lots of opponents.

I saw one being constructed in western Massachusetts over a decade ago. Very long trucks and a spotter vehicle.
