From left to right ages at the time of the photo:
Nellie 73
Sophia 6 Months
Me 54
Andrea 27
Jewell 96
Sophia is now 15 and Grandma Jewell died in 2003 at 98.
I got to thinking about when it was customary to marry at 13--how many generations could be living at the same time? That would be some kind of photo!!!
What a wonderful thing for my grandmother to see her great-great grandchild. For us it was a joy.

It is a terrific photo and you all look wonderful. How lucky you are to have this photo to cherish!
Wow!
I wonder whether that picture was taken with the subject
of the FIVE generations in mind.
Whatever the intent, it is one worth FRAMING.... Priceless!
Best wishes,

Time flies and I often think of my children when they were babies, and now they are already middle-aged. I realize that I should have enjoyed that time. thoroughly.
That IS impressive! People are having kids later, and I dare say the phenomenon is rarer.

Having 5 generations at one time is very awesome! You have longevity genes, good for you. I recently read a novel called "The Roots of the Olive Tree" about a family of 5 generations of first-born women, so seeing your photo had me imagine even better the fictional story.

Must be rare, a beautiful memento both now and for future generations.
We had one of these in the 1994's...Gram was 95, Pa was 71, I was 42, my son was 22 and his daughter was 3... it was fun to see such diversity in the family...
We've never been that lucky to have that many generations alive at the same time. I am the eldest grandchild but my grandmother never got to see any of her greats. My mother never got to see her first grandchild.
Wonderful to have so many generations in one family. We had once 4 generations when my mum was still alive. She died in 2000 at the age of 94. I was then 67 , my daughter was 33 and her son was 8.
May your family be happy and healthy for a long time.
