Happy 80th

My youngest Aunt just turned 80 this past weekend and her daughter and granddaughters threw her a surprise party.

We thought she might faint when she first hear us all singing Happy Birthday.

We had such a great time with about 75 in attendance. Here's my sisters and their spouses along with me and my husband. Our Mom takes center stage!!!

Obelisk

Obelisk is a four sided tapering shaft with a pyramidal top. It was originally erected in pairs for an Egyptian temple.

In the modern world the obelisk is sometimes used in gardening in many medias. I have a few and love this iron one in one of my gardens.

A different shaped obelisk in a different garden, you can see some of my annuals are just begging to grow!

Vintage Easter

All dressed up for Easter services, this was around 1954. I'm the oldest 7, Katy 5 and Deb 3.

Mom always made sure we had new frocks for Easter, sometimes she made them all. Usually polka dot swiss --it was always lacy or filly.

Our Daddy is now in heaven as well as Katy.  Mom is 90 but ALL of us are still going to be at church for Easter!!!

I've kept this card for 50 years, think it's so pretty.

I've been away a few weeks and I'm missing all the ABC posts, traveling and making memories with Mom and grandchildren.

When visiting Colorado family a few weeks ago this sign caught my eye. On the iron gate to the gorgeous outdoor cafe is this "straight to the point" sign.

NOPE -we're not open.

Here are the future adult  worshipers and leaders of the church!! They are learning at an early age the history of Jesus and what actually occurred on Palm Sunday.

This is my great niece and three great nephews!!

Stage Set

We are starting a new series at church this month and I thought it was so unique I would share.

There is a microphone that shows you how big the vintage TV screen is.

A  month of  sermons on "Jesus - The Greatest Hits".

A giant record on a turn table.

The arm of the record player and volume controls.

Our church is a multi generational, ethnic and culture group of  Christians!!!!
