Family reunion

Each summer my fathers side of the family has a reunion on the 4th of July.  This year was a special year being the farm had been in existence for 100 years. One of my 2nd cousins is now the owner.

My grandfather who first bought the farm in 1913 had eight children.  Out of this generation only two wives remain alive, one being my mom.

Their are a total of 28 first cousins.

14 First cousins were able to make it this year.  I am on the far left and my three sisters on the far right.

We shared lots of good stories of growing up and previous reunions.  There were 118 that attended this year.

We still have class reunions, but have not been in the last few years. Not much family left to have one, and most not able to go. It is nice though when you can get your family together.

What a super tradition. You must be proud of your family and that farm. I'm so happy for you that you still have your mom.

Thanks for sharing your blues.

Happy Blue Monday, Ann.

Hi Ann, what a beautiful tradition for your family and in a farm. Being from an urban city, that would be a treat for me.
Blessing,

What a lovely photo. My family holds reunions once every few years and they are always a success, too. Thanks so much for stopping by The Pink Home!
