VINTAGE THINGIE THURSDAY

This is my first post for Vintage Thingie Thursday hosted by Suzanne at Colorado Lady. One my my favorite things to collect are metal objects.

Recently at the Catholic Charaties I found this great family vintage scale, it still works and looks great in my sunroom. It is especially unique to me because it was manufactured in Kansas City, my town by the Hercules Company. It was a steal at $10.00. I can just imagine a mom or dad weighing their new baby on this one.

The second is that of an old railroad lantern, manufactured in St. Louis, it was given to me by my Dad, we have several men in our family who have been employed by the Katy Railroad and my Dad knew I would like it. I like to use it a holidays and use different colors of candles and ribbon.

I bet that old lantern looks wonderful, with a candle and ribbon on it! I love old metal things too, and that scale is really nice too. I've got four old scales, and I just love the look of them. I think they work so well with any decor!
Happy VTT!
