PATRIOT DAY - PLEASE ZOOM TO READ:

My husband and six other members of our family have been or are currently Firemen or Paramedics.  The fallen fire and police touch us in a special way.

Our fire department created this special decal from our department to honor the NYFD.

Our firefighters risk their own lives daily to save our lives. I saw this picture in a newspaper a few years ago and cut it out.  It really touches my heart.

I'm taking time today to watch the services on TV and stopping to say a prayer for all of the family members who are grieving for their loved ones.

Vintage Thingie Thursday - Sugar Mold

Today I want to show you something I bought at the Sparks, KS Flea Market Fall Show last weekend. I found a vintage sugar mold.  When I saw it the first thing that came to my mind was organizing all of my art supplies. WOW- I was able to buy this for $25.00.  I looked on Ebay just for the fun of it when I got back and they are starting at 99.00.  WHEW-I was pleased. My sis Deb (paint splash) bought one too for the same price.  My other sis wants one, there was only these two left. I'll be looking for a bargain for her.

Here it is all filled up in my craft room.

Don't you think it's great. I love it.

REDNESDAY - RED'S IN MY KITCHEN

I'm joining Sue again today for Rednesday--check out the growing list on her blog.

Today I'm showing some red's in my kitchen. Before I started Rednesday, I didn't know if I had any reds at all but I do have some.

Here's my french butler who sits on one of my kitchen counters.  He collects our keys for us so we can FIND them when needed.

I have a few roosters, here is KING ROOSTER who sits in a corner.

My hubby and I lived in New Mexico when he was in the Air Force in 1966 and here is a little piece of that culture that hangs in my kitchen.  Chili Peppers that my Sis gave me. This brings so many good memories of friends who adopted this young couple from Kansas and introduced us to food (delicious-but SO HOT).

I'll be keeping my eye out for RED coming my way--enjoy the rest of the week.

Blue Monday

HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!!!  
I'm a retired worker and so is the hubby. We both worked for 25 and 35 years and now we are enjoying doing all kinds of fun and fullfilling things.

I just got back from a weekend trip with my sisters at Sparks, KS Flea Market and Antiques Show. There was at least 700 booths, if not more.  I came home with lots of treasures.

These are a few of my BLUE postcards.

The red white and blue is in honor of all of our soldiers who served and labored for this country.

REDNESDAY

Today is my first post with Sue @http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/

I am the "Lady of the Scrapbook" at my Red Hat group -The Heartland Sweethearts and I finished a cover that has plenty of red to show.

Our group has so much fun. We meet monthly and go to lots of events and wonderful resturants.  Our group is very diverse, we have authors, interior designers, professional singers, dog trainers and retired business people. We don the biggest red hat we can find (I have at least 10) and act like teenagers(sometimes).
