P IS FOR PONY
While traveling in Amish country a few weeks ago, we drove by a one-room school house and pony's tied up outside. It was such a beautiful sight.
My Dad and MIL used to tell us of their times in elementary school and how they rode their horses to school in the 1920's and 30's.
Times have not changed in the Amish community and I couldn't resist taking a photo of these darling pony's just waiting for school to end and their owners to ride them home. Looks like some of the little ones rode along in the pull carts.
The brown and white pony was so cute.
Inside were grades 1-8 studying their Geography, Arithmetic and English, just like my MIL and father did 70 years ago.
Another thing I noticed was the fencing--not what you normally see.
Would you like living a simpler lifestyle? I've considered that time and again and I just appreciate all my modern conveniences too much.
However, the older I get I do seem to be getting rid of some of my clutter and making the living spaces simpler to clean. Makes me appreciate more the things I really love.
