Garage Flip

I just finished a new project for my sewing room.   I saw this old fan my hubby had in his garage last month and he was planning on throwing it out. I SAID HOLD ON A MINUTE.  I envision a very cool seat.

Here is the before:

My new sewing room has turquoise trim so I thought it would be a great color for the fan too.

And the fan still works very well.

There is a lid to the fan --- so perfect for upholstery.  We cut plywood and then used foam and batting before the final upholstery fabric. Worked perfect to attach the top. Don't you love the fabric--pink and turquoise to match all the furniture in my room!!

After I find a rug that I like and a new window treatment I will be done. I'm ready to start sewing some winter clothes, maybe a new coat!!!

  6. That is an amazing transformation. That's really creative. I guess it's the opposite of a hot seat since the fan will be blowing.
