New Red Flowers

As I was strolling through a garden center last week I spotted this flower I had never seen before.  It is an annual but I love it.

The name is Amaranthus and it is ideal for backgrounds, it grows 18 to 24" tall.

My coneflowers are blooming nicely this week also.

  1. Oh! I love your Amaranthus, I've never seen one before. Thank you so much for introducing it to me. I adore cone flowers and keep meaning to get some - butterflies love them, I think?

    Happy Rednesday!

  2. What a lovely blog!

I missed ABC Wednesday (you have already moved on..;) but my father used to be stationed at Ft Leavenworth and Ft Leonardwood, and we would go to KC to see the Christmas lights. I think it was Overland Park? I didn't know about the tunnels!
