A is for .........

Beginning a new round of ABC Wednesday today and I thought I'd start at the beginning.


How many of you used blocks to learn your letters?  I can remember making words as a little girl with my ABC Blocks.

When I was elementary school we used a chart like this one:

    I had those blocks as a child and so did my daughter. They were multipurpose as we would make little houses with them. Carver, ABC Wed. Team

    Oh those blocks were wonderful! Even as an adult I had a set of blocks from Home Interior that spelled out Home Sweet Home and another Merry Christmas! I was always showing my kids how to create new words from those blocks! LOL

    Prayers for my grandson Colton. He flies to KC,MO tomorrow with his wrestling team. He is a good kid and good little wrestler.

    I taught school and remember the blocks from both my childhood and career. Kids grow up too quick, no Google for kindergarteners. - Margy

    Wow, I haven't thought of those blocks in years, but I still have the sense memory of their edges and their carved shapes. Now there's the tap of glass and plastic. Language evolves, and so do our means of passing it on...
