Photo Fanatic

As the letter P rolls around I thought of all the PHOTOS my family takes. I take plenty of them.

I found some good quotes about photo taking.

Abraham Lincoln said "There are no bad pictures; that's just how your face looks".

Ted Grant said "When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their soul.

As most bloggers, I think most of us love photos-just look at most of our posts. A story usually revolves around one or more photos.

Here are some of the earliest types of photos:

Tin Type

One of my husbands great Aunts.

Hard Postcard picture

Uncle Sherman and his sidekick Old Ship

We just purchased a new Nikon camera and extra lenses and I am still learning about everything I can do with it!!

Oldest tree on Pikes Peak

For the letter O in the ABC Round I'm showing a picture I took on Spring Break.  On the railroad trip up to  Pikes Peak the conductor pointed out the OLDEST tree in the region.

It is the Rocky Mountain Bristle cone Pine and the carbon dating is over 2,000 years old.

The Pines grow in groves at high altitude and cold sub-alpine climates, the tree is native to the United States.

Royals

Kansas City Royals that is!!! We just played the Twins this afternoon and I KNOW its EARLY but we are the only team that is undefeated right now.

Some were saying after being in the World Series last year that maybe our team would not be as good as last year. WRONG.

Here I am a few weeks ago in my Royals gear  at a gathering ready for the season to begin.

Pink cheeks

Don't you love the sunshine on your face?  During spring break we spent some time in Colorado and an afternoon at the Hot Springs.

My youngest grand daughter seemes to have attracted most of the sun on her face that day.

Her sweet face matches the insignia on her sweat shirt!!!!!

MUSIC

Our church is fortunate to have  an excellent group of musicians -  piano, guitars drums and singers. Our dance troop also participated this year. For Easter services this year we did "Ain't No Grave Is Gonna Hold Me Down".

We practiced for three months and it was loved in all three services. This is a video a friend took who was near the front of the church.

Here are some pictures of us on stage.

Me in the tan dress with the belt.

My favorite gospel singer Miss A.

We all kept with the 1930's theme, it was such an enjoyable time.

Music touches the soul and many were stirred this Easter.

Yes PINK

Pinks are few and far between in the winter but maybe just maybe I'll find more here in Spring and Summer.

My flowering plum was in full glory this week. Since then the high winds have taken their spoils.

We are suppose to get a freeze in the next few days-hoping that misses us, my jonquils are blooming.

At our life group last weekend one of the girls brought these yummy pink and yellow spring decorated cupcakes with cute little butterflies.

Exciting around here getting ready for the Easter Choir performance latter today and tomorrow. Having a family dinner at my Sisters, what a blessing!!

Long ago

This week for the letter L I am featuring, lady-like  longer Easter clothes of long ago. Our choir director wanted us to dress in 1930's clothing and everyone caught the vision!!!!!

We are singing  "Ain't No Grave Can Hold This Body Down", an old southern gospel song and we are doing three versions.

We did a video shoot last weekend and this will be shown on the big screens during the songs.

Some lads and lassies were there to add another element for our video.  Our director was able to secure a one-room church built in the early 1900's to serve as our meetin place.

That is me in the very front carrying the purse. We had the old cardboard fans and waved our vintage hankies.

Doesn't  this little guy look so adorable!!

We are all excited to sing this weekend.

My Sistah's and Me

Sistah you better get cho ticket if you wanna ride!!
